Comments

A The Tomb of the Cybermen-themed issue, with many generally very positive reviews of the recently rediscovered story from readers and background articles. The long-running Forgotten Tales series finally concludes with a collection of additions and corrections to previous instalments. Jon Preddle provided a list of the Hartnell era episode titles and attempted to explain the meaning behind each of them. This article provoked debate and discussion, not only over possible interpretations of the episode titles, but also over the "correctness" of the Hartnell story titles. This was the first issue to publish advance book covers supplied by Virgin Publishing's Export Sales Manager, Graham Eames. This liaison with Virgin continued until around 1998 when Virgin stopped publishing Doctor Who. All of this material contributed to making TSV 29 the longest issue yet published (a record beaten in 1996 with TSV 49).
